The CIRCollectors

The CIRCollectors is a contemporary circus collective that grows around the various projects its founders Miriam and Robin Witt are involved in.

Working with a wide range of partners The CIRCollectors create encounters of modern circus with orchestras. They produce shows for variety theatres, curate an international circus festival in Austria and help individual artists develop their skills from technique to performance.

All with an emphasis on the potential in circus skills to make artistic expression accessible for a general audience.

Miriam Witt

office & off stage creative

The stage has been Robin’s second home for almost 25 years now. And for about as long he has been creating circus acts.

Between opera and grand chapiteau. In the Royal Albert Hall or on the main square of Oberpullendorf. As an acrobat for Patrick Sebastien’s „Le Plus Grand Cabaret du Monde“, choreographer of an elaborate gala event in Dubai, stuntman for „Columns of the Earth“ or creator of a contemporary circus production for the Frankfurt Opera, … He enjoys fully exploring a genre just as much as breaking its boundaries.

Entertainment and depth shall not be in opposition. On this path he has collected valuable and fun experiences on and off – and sometimes above or beneath – the stage.

During her final years of college, Miriam sat on planes as much as in school. Still a teenager she became a member of the show group Phoenix Productions. This meant travelling the world to perform at high profile sports galas like the Dubai World Cup and such prestigious cultural events as the Shanghai Beer Festival.

Rapidly gaining experience had her take on more responsibilities which regularly resulted in her being in charge of all the acts present at an event. Meanwhile she also got her bachelor in politics and organisation from Hagen University.

Since 2015, Miriam is employed with Robin. Her role can best be described as the perfect mix of dramaturg and production manager. Being his wife she knows him well enough to understand his ideas, often before he does himself. Being a professional, she keeps enough distance to be able to judge whether his plans stand a chance to translate to an audience.
